Music That Moves for Good

An International Charity Concert Series by Ying Xu.

Internationally renowned conductor and guitarist Ying Xu is putting her extraordinary musical talent into service for a greater cause. She is launching a unique series of charity concerts benefiting Kindernothilfe, an organization dedicated to supporting vulnerable children and families worldwide.

Under the motto “Music That Moves for Good”, this concert series brings together classical music of the highest level with meaningful social engagement. The performances, held both as live events and livestream broadcasts, offer audiences an opportunity not only to experience inspiring music but also to contribute directly to children in need through voluntary donations.

Born in Beijing, Ying Xu is an internationally acclaimed guitarist and orchestral conductor. She has performed on major stages across Europe, Asia, and North America, won 16 international competitions, and served as Artistic Director of the Heritage Music Series (USA), bringing music to hospitals, schools, and underserved communities during the pandemic.

Ying’s commitment to music as a healing force is deeply personal. Having survived a serious heart condition as a child and witnessing how music brought comfort to her father in his final days, she believes firmly: Where words fall short, music begins.

Now based in Vienna, Ying has founded the Blue Heron Charitable Orchestra (BHCO), driven by her vision that classical music can inspire hope, connect souls, and create a shared space of sincerity and beauty — something the world needs now more than ever.

Together with Kindernothilfe Österreich, Ying Xu and her orchestra will organize a series of charity concerts where the beauty of music meets the power of compassion. Through these live and online events, audiences are invited to enjoy unforgettable musical evenings while supporting Kindernothilfe’s work with their generous donations.

First Event: Guitar Forum Vienna

The charity concert series will officially launch in autumn 2025, with upcoming dates to be published here.

In partnership with Prof. Jorgos Panetsos from the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna and the artistic director of Guitar Forum Vienna, donation boxes will be available at the venue. Donations can also be made anytime via this website or QR code.
